FORT WORTH--TCU continued its spring recruiting push Thursday with the addition of NaDosha Strickland, a 5-9 guard who earned junior college All-America honors last season playing for Meridian Community College in Meridian, Miss.

The signing of Strickland marked the second student-athlete to agree to join Head Coach Jeff Mittie's Lady Frog program in the past week.

Strickland should provide TCU with a serious scoring punch as soon as she steps on campus. The Bay Springs, Miss., native averaged 20-plus points per game during each of her two seasons at Meridian. Her team-best 22.4-point-per-game average as a sophomore in 2007-08 ranked third among the nation's junior college players, and she recorded tremendous shooting rates of 51 percent from the floor overall and 41 percent from 3-point range during the season. Strickland added averages of 7.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game while earning second-team All-America honors from the National Junior College Athletics Association as a sophomore.

"We were looking for a shooter and a scorer going into this spring, and NaDosha does both tremendously well," Mittie said. "She fits into what we like to do on the court--to play fast and push the ball up the floor. NaDosha will add to our depth at guard and has the potential to contribute right away for us."

Strickland reached the 1,000-point mark for her career during her final season as an Eagle, when she scored 20-plus points in 19 of 29 games and at least 30 points on seven occasions. Included among Strickland's impressive sophomore season feats was a week-long stretch in mid-February that saw her average 34.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 4.5 steals during a pair of wins. She was named NJCAA Division I national player of the week for her efforts.

Her top career game was a 41-point outburst against Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Jan. 28, when she went 14-of-28 from the floor with four treys.

Strickland averaged 21.0 points, 10.4 boards, 3.5 steals and 1.8 assists per contest during her freshman season in 2006-07 and registered 19 double-doubles in Meridian's 28 games. She scored at least 20 points 16 times while raking in first-team All-Region and All-State accolades in her first season at the junior college level.

Strickland experienced a standout prep career for Bay Springs High School in Bay Springs, Miss., which included a Mississippi Class 2A state title as a sophomore in 2003-04.

The signing marked TCU's second addition of the past week. Former Fort Worth Christian High School star Rachel Rentschler, who spent the past season playing for NCAA Tournament qualifier Texas as a true freshman, also recently pledged to join the Lady Frogs for next season.
