The TCU men's golf program will return to the links on Thursday (May 15) as the Horned Frogs begin action in their 19th consecutive NCAA Central Regional Championship appearance at The Scarlet Course on the campus of The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.

This will be the first time since the 1993 campaign and the third time overall that the Frogs have traveled to The Scarlet Course for NCAA Central Regional Championship competition. The last time that the Frogs traveled to Columbus, Ohio, came at the 2002 NCAA National Championships where the Purple and White tied for 11th overall.

The Frogs - who will enter the tournament as the 16th seed - recorded their best-ever finish at the Mountain West Conference Championships with a second-place showing in their last outing. James Sacheck (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville H.S.) and Robby Ormand (Austin, Texas/James Bowie H.S.) were the top golfers for the Frogs as the TCU juniors tied for fifth overall with a 54-hole score of 213 while sophomore Travis Woolf (Fort Worth, Texas/Paschal H.S.) also notched a top-10 showing in his second-ever conference appearance.

All-Mountain West Conference selection and lone Frog senior Franklin Corpening (Fort Worth, Texas/Paschal H.S.) will compete in his first NCAA Central Regional Championship since the 2006 campaign after earning a 14th-place finish at the conference tournament. After tying for 29th overall in his last outing - TCU newcomer Jordan Woolf (Fort Worth, Texas/Arlington H.S.) will round out the lineup for the Frogs heading into the 54-hole competition.

The University of Alabama - who has been ranked number-one in the country all season - will be the top-ranked seed in the NCAA Central Regional while Oklahoma State, Georgia Tech, Florida and Tennessee round out the top-five seeds. In total - 27 teams advanced to the NCAA Central Regional Championships at the host-school The Ohio State University.

The Purple and White are one of four teams from the Mountain West Conference to advance to the NCAA Regional Championships as Colorado State will be headed to the East Regional while UNLV and San Diego State will be part of the West Regional.

The Frogs will tee off on Thursday (May 15) in the first group at 7:00 a.m. as the Purple and White will be paired with The University of Texas-Arlington and University of Illinois. The top-10 teams will advance to the NCAA National Championships in West Lafayette, Ind., where the event will be hosted by Purdue University on May 28th.
