The Mountain West Conference announced its 10th Anniversary Football Team, as selected by a combined panel of media, institutional and conference personnel and on-line fan poll. In order to be eligible for consideration, candidates must have been a first-team All-MWC selection at least once in their careers. Former TCU defensive end Chase Ortiz was selected to the squad. The Mountain West Conference announced its 2008 preseason all-conference team today as selected by members of the league's media. TCU linebacker Jason Phillips was named the MWC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. He was joined on the All-MWC team by center Blake Schlueter and safety Stephen Hodge. Defensive end Braylon Broughton was named the Preseason MWC Freshman of the Year. (Full Story)

TCU head football coach Gary Patterson and seniors Jason Phillips and Blake Schlueter are in Las Vegas this week for the annual Mountain West Conference media days, which are being held for the second straight year at Green Valley Ranch Resort in Henderson, Nev. (Full Story)
