General
A walk-on distance runner who also competes in cross country.
Can compete at the conference level in distances ranging from the mile to 5,000 meters...also has run the steeplechase during the outdoor season.
2004 Cross Country
Solid contributor on the cross country squad, came on stronger as the season progressed.
Was TCU's third finisher in each of the final three competitions... placed 48th overall at the Conference USA Championships, covering the 8K distance in 27:10, then placed 89th overall at the South Central Region meet with a 10K time of 33:42... improved by 15 positions at the conference meet and six spots at the regional meet.
2004 Track
Finished 12th at the C-USA Indoor Track & Field Championships in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:48.58 and was 21st in the 3,000 meter run with a personal best clocking of 9:08.63.
Helped the distance medley relay team to a seventh place finish at the conference indoor meet.
Competed in the 5,000 meter run and in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the conference outdoor meet... placed 26th in the 5K (15:47.37) and 13th in the steeple (9:51.66).
2003 Cross Country
Placed 63rd at the Conference USA Championships, covering the 8K course in 27.37.30.
Finished as TCU's third runner and 95th overall at the South Central Regional Meet in 34.45.
2003 Track
Ran both the mile and 3000 meters during the indoor season... best mark in the 3K event was 9:20.04 at the Houston Indoor Classic.
Earned a point at the Conference USA outdoor meet in the steeple with an eighth place finish... covered the 3000 meter distance in a career-best time of 9:38.67.
2002 Cross Country
Was the Frogs' second finisher and the 50th runner overall at the Conference USA meet, covering the 8K course in 27:08.01.
Was TCU's top finisher and placed 86th overall at the South Central Regional Meet, covering the 10K distance in 33:46.
2002 Track
Best finish during the indoor season was 14th in the 3000 meters at the Red Raider Classic on January 16 when he finished in 9:34.13.
Notched a pair of third place finishes in the steeplechase... took the bronze medal at the Texas A&M Invitational and at the TCU Invitational.
Placed 22nd in the 5000 (16:24.36) and 11th in the steeple (season-best 9:52.18) at the Conference USA Outdoor Championships.
2001 Cross Country
Placed 79th at the C-USA Championships, completing the 8K course in 26:39.3, fifth among TCU runners.
Again was TCU's fifth place finisher at the South Central Regional Meet (104th overall), with a 10K time of 35:06.
High School
Lettered four times in cross country and three times in track at James E. Taylor High School in Katy... coached by Megan Thomas.
Personal
Steven Thomas Lenney was born April 25, 1983... parents are Tom and Tammy Lenney... father played ice hockey at Hamilton College.
Is a history major at TCU with a minor in geography.
